Challenge: OIAA needed a website that not only enticed new members to join and provided useful interaction information in a private area for members, but also managed the association and events electronically. They also needed an easier way to stay in touch with members.
Solution: We decided on Drupal for the content management system and many modules. After further research recognized how a module called CiviCRM could be adapted to cover almost all our needs.
Delivered: Designed, wrote and built self-managed website. Prospects are now greeted by a professional looking site with relevant information that provides both online event registration and membership application with credit card processing. Association members have a separate login area where they can renew their membership annually, update their profile, register for events at the member rate, participate in forum discussions and polls. OIAA’s membership database and events are now managed in one place, with multiple people trained in how to use this web-based system. Different levels of access can be assigned and all applications, registrations and payments arrive electronically. Reports of all kinds can be easily generated. A built-in email system includes simple or branded HTML templates.
Results: The recent launch was a success with several members immediately making use of the website to renew their memberships. Next stage of live testing includes events and email blasts. We are also working on a marketing plan to drive potential new members to the website.
